PGPcopter: Safe, secure, pizza delivery

A more secure way to do drone delivery · by PGP Drone Labs

### FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE : 12:00 AM April 1 AOE ###

Autonomous home food delivery is here. Anyone watching the news lately has seen the stories about the growing availability of robotic food delivery in places like Washington and Tallinn (https://goo.gl/8t0zA0). But how can you be sure your food has not been tampered with, or worse, consumed without your permission?

This is where we come in: we can guarantee your delivery with a high degree of assurance.

We're PGP Drone Labs, a group of three MIT engineering students who have been experimenting with drones built using open-source components like the Arduino microcontroller and BeagleBoard single-board computer. We think for just a few thousand dollars, we can build a prototype drone that can securely and reproducibly deliver your comfort food of choice to a remote location.

The PGPcopter security is simple; we send you a pizza on a drone with our padlock on it. You receive the delivery, put your padlock on it, and send it back. Then we take our padlock off, turn the drone around and send it back to you. You open it up, using your padlock, and dig in to your savory treat. The model is brilliant if you think of it. If only there was a similar mechanism to ensure the security of information on the Internet!

Prior Art : PGPcopter improves on a previous security mechanism that was used by the pioneering but ill-fated pizzabot. It was a PSD (pizza security device) that used RSA (really smart algorithm) and at least one other TLA (three letter acronym). In one of their attempts, they used SIPI (“I spit on this” Post-It ) security. In that particular malware incident, the Post-It returned with an annotation of “so did I” in a handwriting style not associated with the intended recipient. https://goo.gl/CKjcip

Note that PGPcopter is targeted to an urban culinary audience. It will not defend against wild animals as was witnessed recently in a http://tacocopter.com/ disaster in China… https://goo.gl/1840zp

Thanks to our Pizza-On-Demand (POD) people… who make the best gluten-free, non-GMO, free-range, ovo-lacto, sustainably harvested freegan pizza in the tri-city area.
